Interesting perspective on the importance of relationships at work. Lots of studies have been done on this subject - especially the work by the folks at Gallup. This is one of the key elements of their 12 points leading to an engaged employee.
Many other studies have shown that people join organizations, but tend to leave (more comfortably, less regret, easier separation) when there is a lack of friendships and relationships.
